Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween lovelies! We wont be doing much here in New York tonight due to Hurricane Sandy so I thought I would share some photos of our pumpkin picking adventure last week on the North Fork. Our first stop was Briermere Farms and of course we picked up one of their amazing fresh baked pies! Next we stopped at a local farm to pick our pumpkins. I absolutely love exploring the North Fork of Long Island, especially this time of year! What are your Halloween plans? xo

Joyful

Summer fading into Fall brings me so much joy. I love the crispness of the air, pumpkin spice lattes, the colors of the season, reflecting back on the year and looking forward to the holidays. What brings you joy about this time of year? Photo credit: She takes flight

4 Months in New York

It's been (almost) 4 months since I left the Golden Gate for the Empire State and I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by! I'm starting to get use to being tan, having frizzy hair and "Summer showers." As much as I love my new home, I am SO excited to spend some time on the West Coast with my family & friends for the next two weeks. Have a lovely weekend! xo

Wedding Wednesday: Hair Inspiration

Braids are such a fun trend right now and there are so many classy ways to incorporate braids into your bridal hair style. The two styles above are a simple and chic; both would look lovely with a silk flower or a rhinestone comb.

DIY Succulent Garden

Succulent gardens and terrariums are huge right now and over the weekend I decided to join in on the fun. I had more of a rustic look in mind for my garden and this wooden box from  Jamali Garden in NYC was a perfect fit! I was also lucky enough to score all of these succulents from Walgreens. The larger ones were $2.99 and the smaller ones were $1.99. To finish it off I added some potting soil and some rocks / shells from Fire Island. This was such an easy project and the finished project looks gorgeous on my table :)

I love this loose braid with windblown waves. This look is perfect for a bride with a bohemian / laid back style. {I can't wait to try this look for a night out on the town.} Photo credit

Ringing in 2012... speakeasy style!

The first few weeks of 2012 have been full of fun and events with friends. Now that I have a little down time I'm excited to share the event design I created for my friend's roaring twenies NYE party! The look I was going for was lots of glamour and glitz but with a dark underground twist - my favorite part was the huge 3' balloons. My time in San Francisco is short so I'm soaking up every last minute of all this city has to offer. What did you do on New Year's Eve? {Photograohy by Rodney Chen}
