I survived

I did it! Spring has finally sprung here in Long Island. I survived my first New York winter and that my friends, is worth celebrating. Here are a few survival tips if you are a warmer climate person and ever find yourself in the middle of a snowstorm:
  • Make sure you have antifreeze solution in your windshield wiper fluid. I learned this lesson the hard way.
  • Rubber boots are a MUST. My Hunter boots saved me this season. They won’t keep your toes warm, but they will keep you dry.
  • The correct terminology for light snow is flurries. Not sprinkle snow. Never call it sprinkle snow, or your new coworkers will make fun of you.
  • You can’t wear flip flops 12 months out of the year. I tried. I tried really hard. It’s sad, but your toes will thank you.
Happy Spring! xo

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween lovelies! We wont be doing much here in New York tonight due to Hurricane Sandy so I thought I would share some photos of our pumpkin picking adventure last week on the North Fork. Our first stop was Briermere Farms and of course we picked up one of their amazing fresh baked pies! Next we stopped at a local farm to pick our pumpkins. I absolutely love exploring the North Fork of Long Island, especially this time of year! What are your Halloween plans? xo

Here are a few fall pieces I am loving right now: Gap polka dot sweater, $44.95, Forever 21 bracelet, $10.80 and I am swooning over this pale grey Rebecca Minkoff bag. $195. Happy weekend! xo

Joyful

Summer fading into Fall brings me so much joy. I love the crispness of the air, pumpkin spice lattes, the colors of the season, reflecting back on the year and looking forward to the holidays. What brings you joy about this time of year? Photo credit: She takes flight
